Development & Infrastructure Advisory

What to build, how, with whom, and what it costs to own.

Led by Morgan Allan.

What we do

Landca is a development company as well as an advisory firm. We use that to help owners, developers and infrastructure ventures make better decisions earlier: what to build, how to build it, who to build it with, and what it will cost to own over its life, in money and in carbon, rather than just to construct.

The work spans development strategy for real estate across Canadian and North American markets, investment advisory on projects and companies in the built environment, market-entry strategy for firms expanding into Canada or across the border, and advisory to infrastructure ventures, including as co-founder and strategic advisor to Luvante, an overhead EV charging infrastructure company in Canada.

A theme runs through all of it: resilience and long-term ownership economics. Wildfire, seismic risk, energy cost, insurance and embodied carbon are now first-order development questions in much of North America. We help clients build that into the decision rather than discover it after the fact.

Who it’s for

  • Developers and owners at the front end of a project who want an independent view before the design team is set
  • Companies expanding into Canada, or Canadian companies expanding into the US, who need a market-entry strategy and the relationships to execute it
  • Infrastructure and building-technology ventures that need a strategic advisor with operating experience, not just capital
  • Investors and family offices evaluating development projects or companies in construction and real estate

How we work

  1. Frame the decision: what is actually being decided, by when, and what would change the answer
  2. Assess: market, site, program, delivery method, capital, risk, resilience, carbon
  3. Strategy: a written recommendation with options, trade-offs and a preferred path
  4. Execution support: partner selection, introductions, negotiation support, board or advisory role as needed

What you get

  • A development or market-entry strategy written for the people who have to fund and execute it
  • Independent investment analysis grounded in how projects actually get built and operated
  • Access to a North American network of developers, operators, manufacturers, engineers and contractors
  • Ongoing advisory as a co-founder, board member or strategic advisor where the fit is right

Example engagements

Luvante. Co-founded with partners to bring overhead EV charging infrastructure to Canadian sites where conventional charging doesn’t fit.

Canadian market entry for a US manufacturer. Developed the market-entry strategy and subsidiary structure for a US building-system manufacturer opening in Canada.

Recovery-ready communities. Built a framework linking wildfire resilience to building-system choice, for communities in British Columbia that have lost homes to fire.
